Welcome
Welcome to the Christian and Family Values Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. This is a new ministry area with several goals:
- To inform the Pastor and the church family about current national, state, and local issues affecting Christian family values.
- To work for and support the election, appointment, and confirmation of godly men and women who have demonstrated a concern for family values, to positions of authority and responsibility in all branches of government.
- To maintain on the church website a source of information on contacting national and state legislators, current petitions, voter registration information, and resource literature which promotes Christian citizenship.
- To provide speakers on family values and the importance of Christian Citizenship.

Clayton County Religious Leaders announce intent to strengthen families
More than 40 pastors and spiritual leaders stood on the steps of the Harold R Banke Justice Center on Thrusday morning and signed a declaration aimed at strengthening Clayton County’s families and homes. Clayton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Eldrin Bell also presented a proclamation declaring Thursday “Marriage Initiative Day.” The declaration, called The Clayton County Marriage Initiative, is an interdenominational effort that is the first step of a plan to reduce the county’s divorce rate, fatherless homes, co-habitation rate, domestic violence and the victimization of children and teenagers. The religious leaders also are planning a county-wide worship service in the fall. “Representing various Christian faith communities in Clayton County, we share a common concern regarding marriage and the overall relational health of our community,” said The Rev.
